DAY 1:

Our chauffer will meet you early in the morning at the lobby of your accommodation  and will make your way to the most authentic and famous places in Greece in two days.

The Delphi day tour starts with drive on the national highway towards northern Greece. Along the way, you will see the plain of Beotia and you will also pass through the city of Thebes, the birthplace of King Oedipus. Then we will be on slopes of Mt. Parnassus before reaching Delphi. Our first stop is going to be the monastery of Osios Loukas, which represents the second golden age of Byzantine art (11th-12th century).

You will then drive on to Delphi, which dates to the 9th century B.C. Known as the << navel of the world >> this is the place where the Greece most important oracle. The area  was also a major site  for the worship of the god Apollo after he slew  the Python, a deity who protected the navel of the world (center of the world). Findings in the Delphi region are dated back to the Neolithic period, 4000 years B.C. and with break of thousands of years, they are identified during the Mycenaean times too ( 1600 B.C. - 1100 B.C. ). The sanctuary of Delphi became the heart of the ancient Greek world and the entire eastern Mediterranean, because of the oracle's power and prestige, which individuals and entire cities visited to receive answers to their questions evn to questions of political nature. You will see the Roman Agora, walk along the Sacred Way, and view the monument of the Argive Kings, the Polygonal wall, the monument of Platea and the Tample of Apollo where the oracle resided.

Above the Temple, you can visit the well preserved 3rd-century Theater. On the lower slope of the mountain is the Tholos, a building whose exact purpose is unknown but architecturally speaking is considered one of the masterpieces of the ancient world. You will also see the Palestra where the athletes trained in preparation for the Pythian Games.

After your visit the archeological site, you will visit the Delphi  archeological Museum. As its centerpiece, are the antiquities found in the complex of Oracle which dates from the 18th century B.C.Pythian Games, and many other artifacts.

After your visit to the museum, a stop will be made for a traditional Greek lunch in the village of Delphi, and our last destination will be the village of Arachova. A mountainous village built on a cliff 900m above the sea level very close to the Parnassus ski resort.

You will have free time for walk and a local dinner after settling at the hotel.

DAY 2:

Next morning after your breakfast we can drive for Argolis passing by Livadia and the city of Thebes

Corinthia is the first thing that the visitor encounters entering the Peloponnese, with a rich history and attractions.

The Corinth Canal will be our firts short stop, The Isthmus of Corinth, the narrow piece of land that once linked a strip of land and now with the canal separates the Peloponnese from Central Greece, connecting the two seas, the Corinthian and the Saronic Gulf.
The Isthmus of Corinth is the largest engineering project of modern Greece with a history of over 2,600 years. From Periander during the 7th century BC, Demetrius the besieger the 4th century BC, Nero in 67 AD until finally Ch. Trikoupis in 1882 when the project started.

Shortly after, we reach the city of Corinth.

''ΟΥ ΠΑΝΤΟΣ ΠΛΕΙΝ ΕΣ ΚΟΡΙΝΘΟΝ'' and indeed, it was not easy for everyone to anchor in this rich city. In ancient times, Corinth was amongst the richest cities and this is quite evident by its remains, including the huge Roman Agora (marketplace) and Apollo’s Temple, constructed in the 6th century BC. Away from its archaeological and historical interest Ancient Corinth is also one of the most popular religious destinations in Greece. This was where the Apostle Paul preached Christianity, was judged by the tribunal in the Agora and established the best organized Christian church of that period.

Then we will off to the site of  Homer's Mycenae, ( a UNESCO Heritage site ). They were the Kingdom of Atreus and Agamemnon and is the most important and rich palatial center of the late bronze age in Greece.
With AGT (Athens Greece Transfers and Tours) you will have the chance to tour the ancient ruins of the city and explore the Lion's Gate localed at the entrance of the Acropolis, the Treasury of Atreus, the tomb of Agamemnon, and we will also see in the Acropolis the six Royal Tombs and beyond it the 14 basilicas and 12 private vaulfed Tombs, while we will also visit the Museum.

Your next stop is Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece after the 1821 revolution. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit the medieval castle of Palamidi, explore the old city of Nafplio, and have a traditional Greek lunch beside the sea with amazing views of Bourtzi islet in the middle of the port.

Bringing us to our last stop the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus ( UNESCO World Heritage site ). Epidaurus was the center  of Greek medical world and the birthplace of Asclepius, patron god of medicine Psychotherapy, hydrotherapy and brain sungery were some of the treatments performed here. Epidaurus is probably most famous for its Theater, one of the best preserved Classical Greek buildings and still used today due to its amazing acoustics.

After your visit, you will begin your drive back to Athens.
