DAY 1:

Our chauffer will meet you early in the morning at the lobby of your accommodation. You will be driven west and you will have the chance to enjoy the magnificent Greek coastal scenery.

The Corinth Canal will be our firts short stop, The Isthmus of Corinth, the narrow piece of land that once linked a strip of land and now with the canal separates the Peloponnese from Central Greece, connecting the two seas, the Corinthian and the Saronic Gulf. After 30 minutes stop on the Corinth Canal, your chauffer will drive you through the winding country local roads through olive trees, vineyards and orange trees to Ancient Corinth.

''ΟΥ ΠΑΝΤΟΣ ΠΛΕΙΝ ΕΣ ΚΟΡΙΝΘΟΝ'' and indeed, it was not easy for everyone to anchor in this rich city. In ancient times, Corinth was amongst the richest cities and this is quite evident by its remains, including the huge Roman Agora (marketplace) and Apollo’s Temple, constructed in the 6th century BC. Away from its archaeological and historical interest Ancient Corinth is also one of the most popular religious destinations in Greece. This was where the Apostle Paul preached Christianity, was judged by the tribunal in the Agora and established the best organized Christian church of that period.

The Archaeological Museum is of great interest since it is a great introductory to the famous Corinthian  pottery and Mosaic Art.

In the second part of our tour we will travel together back in time and explore the times just before the outburst of the Trojan War by visiting Mycenae. (UNESCO World Heritage site). They were the Kingdom of Atreus and Agamemnon and is the most important and rich palatial center of the late bronze age in Greece,

With AGT (Athens Greece Transfers and Tours) you will have the chance to tour the ancient ruins of the city and explore the Lion's Gate localed at the entrance of the Acropolis, the Treasury of Atreus, the tomb of Agamemnon, and we will also see in the Acropolis the six Royal Tombs and beyond it the 14 basilicas and 12 private vaulfed Tombs, while we will also visit the Museum.

Our next stop is Nafplio, the first capital of modern Greece after the 1821 revolution. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit the medieval castle of Palamidi, explore the old city of Nafplio, and have a traditional Greek lunch beside the sea with amazing views of Bourtzi islet in the middle of the port.

Bringing us to our last stop the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus (UNESCO World Heritage site). Epidaurus was the center of Greek medical world and the birthplace of Asclepius, patron god of medicine Psychotherapy, hydrotherapy and brain sungery were some of the treatments performed here. Epidaurus is probably most famous for its Theater, one of the best preserved Classical Greek buildings and still used today due to its amazing acoustics.

As this program full of experiences reaches its end we will make our way to Olympia.

We will drive for 3hrs to Olympia and escort you to your hotel.

Overnight in Olympia

DAY 2:

Next morning wake up in Olympia and take your time to gaze at the diversity of Greece’s natural beauty and leads us to the prefecture of Elis where the Archaeological Site of Ancient Olympia is located.

Ancient Olympia is a place whose beauty and value cannot be fathomed by words and descriptions. It is the place that has been admittedly the most glorified and worshiped sanctuary of the ancient world, dedicated to the father of humans and the Gods, Zeus.

The first Olympic Games were held here in honor of God Zeus back in 776B.C. and has become nowadays an international athletic celebration, that exceeds borders and nationalities, begins in this exact place every four years.

You will be able to see the ruins of the Temple of Zeus, of the Temple of Hera, the Stadium with its spectacular capacity of 45000 people. Take your time to explore the ruins of the ancient facilities on site and then continue to the Museum.

After your visit to the archaeological Site and its Museum we suggest to have a break for a lunch in Olympia before we will depart for Athens.
